Edmonton, AB (SportsNetwork. Ashtone Morgan Toronto Shirts .com) - The Edmonton Eskimos will have Mike Reilly back as their starting quarterback today when they host the Montreal Alouettes at Commonwealth Stadium. Catch the action live on TSN at 3:30pm et/12:30pm pt. Edmonton, which had won only once through the first 10 games, had actually put together a two-game win streak with victories over Winnipeg in a span of just six days and appeared to be well on its way to extending that minor run last weekend as well. However, after allowing just a single point to Toronto in the first half and leading by three touchdowns in the third quarter, the Esks completely fell apart, surrendering 33 unanswered points in a 34-22 setback at home. The Eskimos saw Reilly exit in the second quarter against Toronto with concussion-like symptoms. Reilly did have one passing score before exiting. Backup signal caller Kerry Joseph completed 13-of-26 passes for 197 yards and a touchdown to Fred Stamps, adding a three-yard rushing score in the third period as well. Stamps, playing in his 100th career game, registered his 10th receiving TD of the season and also crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the fifth straight year. Marcus Howard logged three sacks for the Eskimos and now has nine sacks on the campaign, placing him fourth in the league in that department. As for the Alouettes, their season has been one disappointment after another. For a team that fired first-year head coach Dan Hawkins just weeks into the campaign, perhaps the biggest issue for the squad has been the loss of quarterback Anthony Calvillo. The leagues all-time leader in countless categories, Calvillo was placed on the nine-game injured list for precautionary reasons in early September, forcing the team to go in a different direction. Unfortunately, with Calvillo unavailable, the quarterback position has been handled similar to fantasy football, with changes made almost on a weekly basis. In addition to Calvillo, the Als have also positioned Tanner Marsh, Josh Neiswander and even Troy Smith under center, with results being marginal at best. Like Calvillo, Marsh is also on the injured list now as well. Last week versus visiting Saskatchewan, a team which was the most dominant in the league through the first half of the season, Montreal and Neiswander played just well enough to notch their fifth win of the campaign, a 17-12 decision. The signal caller converted 21-of-36 passes for 264 yards and a score, while Smith added a 54-yard toss to Jerome Messam for good measure. Duron Carter scored the only major of the game for the Als on a 45-yard reception, finishing the contest with six catches for a game-high 152 yards. Defensively, Montreal picked off three Darian Durant passes and recovered a fumble to keep the Roughriders from coming out on the winning side. Not surprisingly, the once prolific passing attack for the Alouettes has slowed considerably in 2013. Ahead of only Winnipeg when it comes to passing yards, Montreal has thrown for a collective 3,209 yards and 14 touchdowns, and at the same time watched 19 attempts get picked off. With the passing attack struggling, Montreal needs to find a way to kick the running game into gear, but thats simply not happening. In fact, in addition to tying for the fewest rushing touchdowns in the league with eight, the Als are at the bottom with regard to first downs produced running the ball (70), and are second-to-last in both yards per game (306.2) and scoring (23.2 ppg). Edmonton leads the all-time series with the Als by a count of 37-28-2, dating back to 1961 and taking into consideration only regular-season matchups. However, Montreal won the most recent battle back in July by a 32-27 margin and has taken seven straight from the Eskimos. Damien Perquis Jersey . Ward stole a pair of goals from Winnipeg centre Bryan Little in the first period, beginning with a pad save during a Jets two-man advantage and then displaying his quickness with a highlight-reel stick stop. Goran Dragic, whose breakout season helped the Phoenix Suns make a remarkable transformation, was presented the most improved award at a ceremony Wednesday at US Airways Center. http://www.torontofcshop.com/c-19-damien-perquis-toronto-mls-jersey.aspx .C. - Wendell Scott earned a second NASCAR first on Wednesday: He became the first African-American driver to be elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. PHOENIX -- The Suns are getting energy from an unexpected source in their strong start to the season. Phoenixs reserves came up big again Friday night, with twins Markieff and Marcus Morris leading the Suns to a 114-103 over the Denver Nuggets. Markieff Morris scored 14 of his career-high 28 points in the fourth quarter as Phoenix came back from an 11-point deficit late in the third after leading by as many as 18 in the first couple of minutes of the second half. His effort was a big part of the 51 points scored by the Suns bench players. "Well take it," Suns coach Jeff Hornacek said. "They play with energy. Thats what we need them to do, is just continue to play as hard as they can. When theyre out there its a pretty small lineup, which I think makes them all think I have to go rebound and I have to help out and then theyre just much more active." Markieff Morris added 10 rebounds and made 10 of 13 shots. Marcus Morris scored 11 points and grabbed eight boards. The brothers combined for five steals, and reserve guard Ish Smith had eight and four assists in only 12 minutes, 27 seconds on the court. "Hes doing a nice job of not just floating around the 15- to 18-foot range looking for a jump shot," Hornacek said of Markieff Morris. "Hes playing under control. Markieffs not forcing anything." Phoenix (4-2) got 46 points from its reserves in a loss at San Antonio on Wednesday and in the three games prior, totalled 40, 35 and 35 points from its bench players. The Suns led 64-47 at halftime but got outscored 40-20 in the third quarter. Ty Lawson scored 21 of his 29 points in the period to vault the Nuggets back into the lead. "We cant give up that many points in a quarter," said guard Gerald Green, typically a reserve but pressed into a starting role Friday. "Our bench was huge. Were going to need that for the rest of the season to be one of those good teams in the West." The fourth quarter saw both teams matching baskets until Marcus Morris hit a jumper with 5:13 to play thatt gave the Suns a 100-95 lead and jump-started a strong finish. Luke Moore Jersey. Starters Miles Plumlee added 18 points and 11 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe had 17 points and nine assists. Jordan Hamilton scored 19 points for Denver, which fell to 1-4. "The fourth quarter killed us again," Lawson said. "The third quarter we were up 10 and I should have managed the game better. We took a lot of quick shots and turned the ball over." The Suns trailed 87-76 before closing out the third quarter with an 8-0 run. Smith converted a three-point play and Markieff Morris made a layup off a steal. Phoenix got off to a quick start. Plumlee scored 10 points in the first quarter, including a pair of three-point plays when he twice took Denver big man Timofey Mozgov off the dribble for a basket and a foul. The Suns made 14 of 24 first-quarter shots, one of them a high-flying dunk by Green on a lob from P.J. Tucker. Phoenixs 35 points marked its most in an opening period this season. Phoenix went ahead 57-45 on a pick-and-roll layup by Plumlee. The Suns took their largest lead of the half when Markieff Morris leaped to grab the high carom from a missed free throw and slammed the ball home for a 64-46 lead. "I told our team we lost that game in the first half," Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. "We gave up 65 points in the first half and 35 points in the first quarter. Low energy once again. "I am at a loss of words from the lack of energy from some of our rotation guys. ... I will go down the bench and find the guys who want to play." NOTES: The Suns played without starting guard Goran Dragic, who warmed up before the game but is still dealing with a sprained left ankle. Dragic has now missed the past three games but could be ready as soon as the Suns next game against New Orleans on Sunday. Green started in his place. . Hornacek is the first Suns head coach to begin his tenure 3-0 at home since Scott Skiles in 1999-2000. The Suns opened 3-0 at home for the first time since the 2009-2010 season.
