SANTA CLARA, Calif. Joey Bosa Jersey . -- Colin Kaepernick insists he just happened to pull on a pair of socks with dollar bill prints all over them Wednesday morning -- before he learned he had struck a new fortune with the San Francisco 49ers. "I had these on before I found out," he quipped. "Luck of the draw." In the tattooed quarterback, the Niners have their franchise man for the long haul. One of the NFLs most dynamic young playcallers, Kaepernick received a $126 million, six-year contract extension Wednesday that keeps him with the organization through the 2020 season. The deal includes $61 million in guaranteed money, a person with knowledge of the contract said, speaking on condition of anonymity because terms werent disclosed. The sides had made it a top priority to get a deal done before the start of training camp next month. "They were able to get it done six weeks earlier than what I think everyone thought," Kaepernick said. "Im very excited to have it done at this point and we dont have to worry about talks or anything like that moving forward." Kaepernick, whose quick ascent to the ranks of the NFLs elite under centre has earned him rock star status, had been due to make less than $1 million this season. Now, the 26-year-old Kaepernick instantly becomes one of the leagues richest stars. "Im always striving to be in that group. An elite group in the NFL. Not necessarily pay, but as far as a player. Whatever comes along with that comes along with it," Kaepernick said. "Im very grateful for it. ... I dont think my motivation is money-driven." Since taking over the starting job from Alex Smith two years ago, Kaepernick led the 49ers to their first Super Bowl in 18 years after the 2012 season -- losing by three points to Baltimore -- and then to the NFC championship game last season, a three-point defeat to the rival and eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Kaepernick even offered a shoutout to 2005 No. 1 overall draft pick Smith, saying, "I dont think I would be able to be at this point so quickly if he hadnt been such a great mentor to me and helped me along with things." Kaepernicks next mission: "Trying to win as many Super Bowls as I can," he said. "I think thats your goal as a player to try to win a Super Bowl every year that youre playing." A second-round draft pick out of Nevada in 2011, Kaepernick has thrived under former NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh -- and the coach has said how much he wants the mobile, strong-armed QB around for the long haul. Accomplishing an extension before the season is a big deal as the team begins its first year in $1.2 billion Levis Stadium at team headquarters. "I really expect a real breakout year for Colin. Athletically, he looks bionic," Harbaugh said during the organized team activity last week. "If you all remember The Six Million Dollar Man, thats what it looks like to me. Hes very gifted and he always has been. He has the look and feel of a guy whos really going to break out, even more so than he already has. Im really excited about everything about his game right now." Greetings and kind words came via Twitter posts from teammates. "Congrats to my boy (at)kaepernick7 on the extension! (hashtag)deserving (hashtag)hardestworkingdudeiknow," wrote fullback Bruce Miller. In a sensational playoff debut in January 2013 against Green Bay, Kap -- as they call him -- used his speedy legs to run for a quarterback playoff-record 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Then, in a season-opening win against the Packers last September, the strong-armed San Francisco QB threw for a career-best 412 yards and three scores. "Colins hard work and dedication have played an integral role in the recent success of the 49ers organization," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "His work ethic, leadership and on-field production have positively influenced our team, and we look forward to his continued growth in all areas. Our organization always looks to reward our players for their contributions and commitment to the team." Harbaugh remained optimistic of getting a new deal done, while Kaepernick said his only focus was on football and he was leaving it to his agents to do the rest. The quarterback had said he sought a "fair" deal. He is regularly the first to arrive at work each morning and the last one off the field. Kaepernick has completed 382 of 639 passes for 5,046 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also has started all six post-season games in which he has appeared, earning four wins and passing for 1,374 yards and seven touchdowns. Kaepernick said last week he hopes a Miami investigation from April that names him will soon be over. He said that matter didnt affect his thoughts about whether it would affect the extension. "That wasnt something I was worried about," Kaepernick said. "I let my agents handle all the talking." Last month, Miami Police released two calls to a 911 dispatcher saying a woman identifying herself as Jesus was lying naked in a bed and refusing to leave. The callers said the woman wanted to spend time with a third man who wasnt there. Police say the players also involved in the case are 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton and Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette. None of them has been charged with any wrongdoing. "Were just really thrilled for the Kaepernick family. Theyre amazing people," agent Scott Smith said after Kaepernicks news conference. "Were just so happy for them. Were really grateful of all the hard work the 49ers put into it." So, about his timely sock selection? "To be honest, one of my friends gave them to me, gave me a box of socks," he said. "No idea what brand or what company, but they were in my drawer." Custom Chargers Jersey . Ronaldo netted his 14th goal of the season in Europes top competition to give Madrid a clear advantage ahead of next weeks quarterfinal return leg in Germany. But it came at a price as the Portugal forward, who came into the first-leg nursing a sore left knee, came off in the 80th minute. Antonio Gates Chargers Jersey . The 55th-ranked Austrian saved five of the eight break points he faced and converted three of his 12 chances to defeat the Spaniard in 2 1/2 hours. Granollers, ranked 40 places above Thiem, was granted a first-round bye at the clay-court event.Last year was a great one, the best year as it relates to Canadas Purolator Tackle Hunger program. That is because last year WE raised 1,149,029 lbs of food for nine local food banks across Canada. And yes, I want to be a part of it again but need your help. To understand the importance and significance of the program you have to take a moment and imagine what it would be like to go a whole day with nothing to eat. To wake up one morning and wonder how you are going to survive the day. It must be an anxiety wrenching feeling where your goal for the day is not to accomplish or progress, you goal for the day is to survive. And what I would again only have the ability to imagine is if you have kids or dependents who themselves wonder how they are going to survive. Having the sensitivity or even merely the awareness to feel another human beings pain is a remarkable quality of maturity and elegance. In many ways it is a human strength that provides those who have it with a motivation of compassion that creates individual accomplishment. It is very, very true that many times we will do more for others than ourselves and in the case of the Purolator Tackle Hunger program, more for others who we may not even know. The success of the program says a lot about the citizens of Canada and their character as people. But as in the last 12 years, this year we must again strive to improve and hopefully maintain the effectiveness of the program. Almost half of the food donations that food banks have are for kids, which may be extremely surprising for some. I know it was for me. Twelve years ago when I visited my first food bank in my life as an observer I expected to observe adults only. Older perhaps or physically limited perhaps or just people "down on their luck". I never originally thought I would see so many different types of people from all walks of life and backgrounds. People that were simply laid off due to employment restructure, where when the "restructure" was completed were not asked back. People that were "downsized" due to age or inefficiency who were left with money but not enough to live rationally and reasonably. And even people that I wondered that if the food bank was not here as a resource what they would be forced to do to eat and survive. If you take hope away from a human being the human being will change and not for the better. You take hope away from a human being and something changes internally. Something inside where you do what you have to do to survive, even if it is at the expense of others. A food bank give people hope. It gives them what they need to get through the day, week, month and gives them hope that in the future there will be better days, weeks, months. Joey Bosa Chargers Jersey. I am convinced that food banks keep communities and neighbourhoods safe because they manage desperation. Still, the most emotionally attaching visual you will see in a food bank are the kids, and I dont mean teenagers or young adults, I mean kids. Infants, five-year-olds who should be in kindergarten. Ten-year-olds who should be out and about doing whatever a 10-year-old does with the mothers and fathers that are there beside them in the food bank. Kids are smart, they are bright because they are very intuitive. They know that going to a food bank is not normal, and they probably know that because their other friends dont go to food banks and hear about it. They understand that this is a place there parents dont want to be because of pride and a place they have to be because they have no choice. If in life you ever need a moment to realize how fortunate you just may be, go to a food bank and watch people. What you may notice is an absence of happiness, and absence of emotion. Just a desire to satisfy a basic need, to eat. And when you notice that in a five-year-old, or a 10-year-old then making an extra effort to donate is no effort at all. To all those who have donated in the past and to all those who I know will donate in the future I give you the most sincere thanks possible. Your assistance elevates me to do more for others as I know I have so many others working with me. And in the end, it is about acting on a need, an issue of society. Not losing that empowering and respected human quality of being able to feel anothers pain and desperation. For 12 years it has been there, and I ask you once more this year to again respond to the challenge of simply helping others who simply need a little help. Here are the dates to put on your refrigerator or cupboard. 1. Vancouver: Montreal at BC. Saturday, July 19. 2. Regina: Toronto at Saskatchewan. Saturday, July 26. 3. Calgary: BC at Calgary, Friday, August 1. 4. Ottawa: Edmonton at Ottawa, Friday, August 15. 5. Winnipeg: Montreal at Winnipeg. Friday, August 22. 6. Hamilton: Toronto at Hamilton, Monday, September 1. 7. Edmonton: Saskatchewan at Edmonton, Friday, September 26. 8. Toronto: Hamilton at Toronto. Friday, October 10. 9. Montreal: Toronto at Montreal. Sunday, November 2. Bring your non-perishable food items to the Purolator Tackle Hunger truck located at a visible main gate at each and every CFL stadium on the specific date indicated. Cash donations are also appreciated as every dollar is equal to 2 lbs of food. Together, lets make 2014 as wonderful as 2013. A little help goes a long, long way.
